Palomino was founded by Kate Ferguson in 2014 from a passionate desire to create beautiful surroundings.
Palomino Interiors is a full-service interior design firm based in New Canaan, CT with projects across New England, Florida and Texas. Our team can handle any assignment from a simple room refresh to a ground-up new build.
With close partnerships with architects, builders, contractors, furniture makers, and artisans, we carefully consider each client’s lifestyle and will source everything from rugs, countertops, furniture and lighting.
We believe that a beautifully designed house is a sum of its parts, and that comfort and practicality should never be compromised. We mix new with old, and bring our attention to detail and appreciation for color and pattern to deliver a home that not only feels personal and livable, but elegant and effortless.

Kate graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Anthropology. Kate spent the first ten years out of university working at a global advertising agency and quickly became the agency's go-to for photoshoot styling. In 2014, Kate left the corporate world in search of a new way to fulfill her creative passion and Palomino Interiors was born. Kate decided to take a chance and turned Palomino Interiors into a full service design business. Kate has never looked back and has been creating beautiful homes ever since. Kate’s creative vision and commitment to each client has led to the success of Palomino Interior Design.
Outside of the office, Kate is a mom to four and lives in New Canaan, CT with her children and husband.
